Pantry Organization

After binging the Netflix series Get organized with The Home Edit. Organization mode at our household has been on high! My poor fiance, Dan! To be honest, I am always organizing and rearranging, I can't help it, its just who I am. Since the COVID 19 lockdown home decorating, cleaning and organizing have been more frequent than normal. I live in a condo and have to maximize every space. Luckily our pantry is pretty large. After months of quarantine and increased cooking at home, our pantry was out getting out of hand. It is already small and needs help. Just needed some clean out and organization.

I am saving right now before I allow myself to go to The Container Store and buy all the clear acrylic organizing bins. In the meantime, we are going to be a baller on a budget. A little organizing and clean out with some affordable options I had will get me through until my Container Store shopping spree.

The best way to start is to take everything out! Grab a trash bag and a storage bin. Create 3 piles and sort everything in the pantry by what you want to throw away, donate or keep and put back into pantry.

3 piles

  1. Trash

  2. Donate

  3. Keep

A simple clean out and a few affordable shelving options can increase the space dramatically. Try removing bulky packaging to save space and group items together. Use the amazon shelves for canned goods and glass containers. The Ikea Skubb boxes are $4.99 for a set of 6. I love these for everywhere in the house! These boxes are great for snacks and food groupings. Keep it easy simple with a quick cleanout, and make sure to donate any food you no longer need!
